Outreach

Scientific papers are very important, but they often do not reach a broader audience. That is why science needs to be communicated beyond the academic public.

News paper article by Terra da Gente - EPTV (Brazil) - about a scientific paper produced by our lab. In this paper we discovered that males of the Lined Seedeater, (Sporophila lineola) arrive before females in the breeding grounds, after migratory journey of more than 2000 km (Ciolete et al. 2005, Ardeola 72:33-48). This may have important consequences for their reproductive success.
